From Imaging to Composition: New Spectroscopy and Weighing Lines Added

2026-10-19

Two new product lines went live in our product centre today: one for composition analysis, one for precision weighing.

1. From seeing to measuring

A microscope answers what something looks like, how big it is, how it is structured. But three other questions usually follow:

What substance is this black particle?

Does this coating meet its transmittance specification?

What balance do I need to weigh 2 mg of reference standard without exceeding the error limit?

The first two need spectroscopy; the third needs a balance. Until now our answer to such enquiries was a referral. Now we handle both lines ourselves.

2. Four spectroscopy systems, four different jobs

An FT-IR imaging microscope handles micro-area chemical analysis: locate the target in visible light, collect an infrared spectrum at that point, identify the material. Microplastics, coating defects, tablet contaminants, multilayer film cross-sections.

A benchtop FT-IR spectrometer is the workhorse for routine identification: polymer grades, pharmaceutical excipients, food adulteration, incoming goods verification.

A UV/Vis/NIR spectrophotometer measures optical performance: transmittance and reflectance of filters, lenses, coated glass and photovoltaic films, plus band gap of semiconductor thin films, across 175 to 3300 nm.

A routine UV/Vis spectrophotometer serves teaching and QA laboratories: nucleic acid and protein quantitation, water quality indices, food composition, dissolution testing.

3. The weighing line

A 1 µg microbalance.

What it solves is not greater accuracy but adequacy. Under pharmacopoeial minimum sample weight logic, a 0.1 mg balance has a minimum weight near 20 mg. Weighing 2 mg of reference standard, or handling genotoxic impurities where the sample itself is scarce, requires a balance in the 1 µg class.

The instrument includes a built-in ionizer, automatic levelling and internal adjustment, with audit trail and multi-level user management for GMP data compliance.

4. Why these two lines

First, our customer base. Materials, pharmaceutical, food and environmental laboratories make up a large share of our clients, and their purchase orders routinely combine microscopes, spectrometers and balances.

Second, the workflows sit next to each other. Find an anomalous particle under the microscope and you want IR identification next; inspect a coating cross-section and you want its optical performance measured. Same room, same supplier when something needs sorting out.

Third, service coverage is unchanged. The instruments are new; selection advice, method guidance, installation training and after-sales response follow the same process and the same local response.

5. Now live in the product centre

Specifications, applications and bilingual documentation for all five products are online, under Spectroscopy and Optical Analysis and Balances and Weighing.

If you are unsure which model fits your samples, send us the sample type, the analytical goal and the approximate scale — we will advise on configuration and can arrange a demonstration.
