School of Basic Medical Sciences, Zhejiang University microscopy case study

Project Overview

Equipped with a PA53 FS6 fluorescence microscope and digital imaging system for fluorescence observation, multichannel imaging and image analysis of cell and tissue samples.

In research and postgraduate teaching at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, fluorescence observation is routine in cell biology, histology and molecular biology. The MOTIC PA53 FS6 supplied is an upright fluorescence microscope with a six-position filter turret covering common channels such as DAPI, FITC and TRITC, paired with a digital imaging system for multichannel capture and overlay.

After installation we calibrated the fluorescence light path and confirmed filter-to-objective matching, then trained users on channel selection, exposure control to avoid saturation, multichannel capture and overlay, and protection of fluorescent samples from photobleaching. Light source life and light-path cleanliness directly affect fluorescence image quality, so replacement intervals and cleaning methods were explained on delivery, with ongoing maintenance and consumables support.
